Stanley Cavell
Stanley Cavell is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of Harvard. He has promoted the cross-fertilisation of analytical philosophy, European continental traditions and American pragmatism. Applying the fruits of Wittgenstein's lessons, he has devoted numerous works to the semantic analysis of the worlds of literature, cinema and everyday life.  His studies have ranged from the pursuit of happiness in the Hollywood comedies to scepticism in Shakespeare's tragedies. His main publications translated in Italian are: Alla ricerca della felicità.
